ABOUT ME
I have fond memories as a child living in St. Charles County. Back then, my biggest concerns were getting the best grade on a test and knowing where my friends wanted to hang out. School was a sanctuary for me – a safe place where I could grow and expand my possibilities.
As a proud member of the Wentzville community since 2001, it has been eye-opening to see how the schools have varied from that sanctuary I remember. Despite the heroic efforts of an exhausted staff, a decline in discipline and lack of consequences for violent or disruptive behavior has led to a detrimental shift of focus – from academics and student development to concern for safety and security.
Vision
Raising three sons in this school district, I’ve seen firsthand how these changes can impact learning. Serving as their advocates, I continue to work closely with school staff and administration to develop solutions and build a safer, stronger environment for my children to thrive. Through this experience, I have developed a passion for providing these opportunities for all children in the Wentzville school district.
During the pandemic, our schools were closed, this had an immense negative affect on our children’s education. “Learning Loss”, the setback of a child’s educational growth by months, is a widespread issue that continues to this day and needs to be addressed quickly.
Over the years I have witnessed the population growth Wentzville has experienced which has led to the school district requesting tax increases – often causing financial strain on its residents. The numerous tax increases have negatively impacted families like mine and yours throughout our district.
In prior work experience, I was responsible for balancing large accounts; this
demonstrated to me how crucial money management is for a business to function properly. Furthermore, as a stay-at-home mom, smart spending is crucial for our household to function. As a board member, I will ensure responsible spending and budget management.
Additionally, I will focus on the retention of qualified teachers and staff, bus drivers, aides, and other vital district employees who will support our district goals. I would also like to address support for students with special learning needs, assist struggling students who don’t qualify for special education, and reduce violent disruptions to maintain a safe, efficient and optimal learning environment for our children.
“Learning Today, Leading Tomorrow” is our district’s motto. In order to see this through we must address learning loss, behavior/discipline issues, financial responsibility, and support our amazing staff!
