ABOUT ME

My name is David Lewis, and I am a candidate for the Board of Education at WSD. I recently retired from my career as the Vice President of a local federal contractor that provided solutions to the DOD and other various agencies for the US Government. As Vice President I ran an organization that included: Operations, Engineering, Procurement, IT and Project management.

I have a strong history of dealing with complex projects and working across various organizations to find the best solution to solve the challenges at hand.

My decision to run for this position has been some time in coming. I have been active in the politics of both the WSD and the City of Wentzville for a number of years. I believe that it is the responsibility of every able individual to use their knowledge and experience to give back and be part of lifting up the next generation.

Today our children/grandchildren face more challenges than I think at any previous time in our history. Preparing them for this sometimes-crazy world is something that I strongly believe in.

My Core 4

Fiscal Responsibility – Integrating business practices into our strategic planning is critical to our management of expenses given our rapidly growing school district. Items for this planning cycle include: Our tax dollars must stay in our community; we must recognize the critical roll of our teachers and make improvements to the pay structure for them, and we must remove wasteful spending.

Safety – Safety must be a priority for our building structures, teachers, staff/administration, and our children. We must continue to identify the gaps in protection and design ways to counter these gaps.

Curriculum – We must focus on teaching our children how to succeed in life with a focus on real skills. We must get back to the basics and stop the ongoing woke-ism taking place in education today.

Senior Citizens – Senior Citizens need relief on their significant school district tax burden. We are placing an unsupportable burden on our fixed income citizens.

I ask for your vote. Sincerely David Lewis
